The Long-range Research Initiative (LRI) Programme of the European Council for the Chemical Industry (Cefic) is organising its annual workshop to showcase results and outcomes of several LRI projects completing in 2011-2012.

The workshop will focus on key areas including combined exposure, exposure modeling, persistence, nanomaterials, environment bioaccumulation and prediction models. The objective of the workshop is to show scientists, academia, regulators and stakeholders the value that the LRI Programme has created and introduce its future direction.

La Red Española de Métodos Alternativos organiza el 18 de enero de 2013 (9.30-14.30 h) en Madrid (Centro de Ciencias Medioambientales. ICA. CSIC) la VI Jornada REMA, in memoriam de Joan Albert Vericat. Se tratarán temas de actualidad como los nuevos modelos requeridos por la industria, la evaluación de nanomateriales, la entrada en vigor de la Directiva 2010/63/EU sobre protección de los animales empleados con fines científicos, el proyecto Tox21 y el papel del Centro Europeo de Referencia sobre Alternativas.
